Frustration leads to choices and change
spence — Fri, 07/27/2012 - 04:47
A wonderful email from a client that needed to be shared. It portrays a journey I see over and over with women and their fertility struggles. The self-reflection and beautiful changes that come with these tough times are often the silver lining that begs to be given the spotlight it truly deserves.
The bullet points are my responses.
Hi Spence,
Thank you for your email and checking in on me. You know me well ;-)
I'm honestly not really sure what I was looking for. But I felt the same way as you did. Something was missing when I left.
We’ve made the decision to cease our pursuit of another pregnancy

I like sharing the emails I get from clients that I believe are important for other women to read. I am so impressed by the way this woman views life. She is full of faith and it shows in how she surrenders and accepts her reproductive outcomes.
Research Proves Acupuncture Reduces Stress
spence — Thu, 03/15/2012 - 17:51
Finally there is a simple way to explain how acupuncture reduces stress. Researchers from Georgetown University prove something everyone that has ever had acupuncture already knows. This can and will now be linked to how acupuncture has beneficial effect with women experiencing infertility.
A Tight Belt May Cause Infertility
spence — Wed, 11/02/2011 - 15:57
Fashion and fertility is not the focus of this blog post. When I refer to the 'belt' I am making reference to an ancient Chinese concept of the Dai Mai, a vessel that runs around the midsection of the body just like a belt.
PCOS and Stress Sensitivity
spence — Sun, 10/30/2011 - 16:09
I read an article today about PCOS and it's links to diabetes and cardiovascular health. More interestingly it talked about PCOS being an evolutionary survival mechanism; ovulate less when times are tough. It also stated that stress triggers a similar mechanism, yet again another tie between infertility and stress. The conclusion had this excerpt and quote from a doctor that I wanted to share...
It was time, once again, to make tangible, my 'forward-focused' vision...

It is my belief that you can never be too clear on where you are going in life and what type of person you want to be. It is also my belief that we need a guide to help us along the way, to hold up the mirror when necessary, and to ask the right questions when our ego is running the show.
My most recent few months with my guide, Thomas Kevin Dolan, once again resulted in a vision with even more detail and clarity.
Women Need Their Girlfriends In Tough Times
spence — Thu, 07/28/2011 - 21:27
One of the most painful things about infertility for women is that it often makes them feel estranged from their closest friends and sisters as it can seem like everyone in their social group is having a baby and they are the only ones left out. So when they most need to tend and befriend they have no one to turn to.
When fertility has become an issue in a womans life, it is important that they spend time with their girlfriends, help out with others children, and be nourishing to theirselves.
A Miracle
spence — Fri, 05/27/2011 - 18:04
I have a story that I would love to share. It is truly a miracle story, one that Hollywood makes movies about or that you usually only hear about happening to someone you do not know. A couple years ago a woman came to see me at my clinic, she began to tell about the bike accident she had about half a year before coming in to see me. The injury was very severe and she was told that she would never be able to walk again, and likely never feel her body from the neck down for the rest of her life.
Committed to Struggle
spence — Fri, 05/20/2011 - 17:32
The topic of my last coaching session with Thomas Kevin Dolan; 'excuses'. It was amazing to find out what I am subconsciously committed to. Underlying commitments that really are only creating more struggle in my life, when what I am striving for is more peace. The excuses, justifications, and rationalizations I make in life are clearly taking up far more energy than they should be. When talking to Thomas I actually tried to rationalize when an excuse may be justified,...isn't that perfect!
Acupressure for Emotional Health & Beauty
spence — Thu, 05/05/2011 - 05:39
Acupressure is an ancient healing technique using the fingers (vs. needles) to stimulate acupuncture points. It is used for general health preservation and the self-treatment of disease. The 7 key acupressure points explained below effectively stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities.
Acupressure is best known for its ability to alleviate physical pain. For issues such as headaches and back pain, acupressure is extremely effective. For issues of emotional pain, the positive effects of acupressure is only starting to get the attention it deserves.
